apple cider doughnuts...two ways

I have a super EASY, extremely unhealthy, but totally worth it, recipe to share.  The best part is that I kind of made it up.  Really, I just altered a recipe my mom has been cooking for years.  I had two different ideas of how I could make apple cider flavored doughnuts, and they both turned out AMAZING!

Apple Cider Doughnuts (two ways)

Recipe 1:

Ingredients:
- veggie oil
- can of refrigerated biscuits (I used Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers)
- 1 package instant apple cider drink mix
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 T. milk

Directions:
- Take the biscuits out of the can, and poke a hole in the center to give them a doughnut look.
-Pour a thin layer of veggie oil in a pan (any size will do).
-Heat on med/low.
-When it starts bubbling a little place the biscuits in the oil.
-Flip occasionally
-Take them out when they are a nice golden brown, and place on some paper towels to dab off excess oil

While the doughnuts are cooking you can make the glaze

-Mix together: 1 package instant apple cider drink mix, 2 cups powdered sugar, and 4 T. of milk.

-When the doughnuts have cooled a little, dip each side in the glaze.

And enjoy!

Recipe 2:
This is basically the same recipe, just a couple changes.

Ingredients:
-veggie oil
-can of refrigerated biscuits (I used Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers)
-1 package instant apple cider drink mix
-granulated sugar
-cinnamon

Directions:
-Mix apple cider drink mix and 6 oz. of water in a bowl.
-Let doughnut shaped biscuit soak in the apple cider for about 5 min.
-Then cook in the oil as instructed above.
-Once the doughnuts have cooled a little dip in a bowl of sugar until completely covered.
-Then sprinkle a little cinnamon on top.

They are both so good, I can't tell which recipe I like better!
Hubster liked them too...

He just thought it was weird that I wanted to take a pic of him eating. haha
