fro yo

Last weekend I went home to visit the fam, and after spending the afternoon by the pool we decided we wanted some frozen yogurt! So we went to a new frozen yogurt place in Birmingham called Yogurt Lab. It was really good but the atmosphere was even better! There is a ton of seating and it is very spacious. I also love how the design is clean, modern, and colorful!

About to enjoy some fro yo with my beautiful sister, Anna!

Thanks for taking some great pics Mom!

hanging room dividers

I just love creative ways to divide a large space. These are some of my fav images that I have collected.

I have a window that my mom bought me from an antique store, so I just might have to get more so I can create a hanging room divider!

scheming

I saw this image on apartment therapy a few weeks ago and I just loved it! Especially the color scheme! It’s so happy and homey. So I pulled out the colors involved in the space to create a palette so I can remember to use this color scheme one day!

mason bee house

Father’s day is coming up and I have a great gift suggestion that won’t break the bank!

A Mason Bee House! I gave my grandparents one for Christmas and they love it! The bees are already starting to fill it in.

They emailed me a pic

Mason bees are nature’s best pollinators! Way better than honeybees. And they are non-stinging! Yay!

You just hang the bee house against a tree or wall where it can get morning sun, and the female bees will come and fill in the tubes with eggs!

So if the dad in your life wants to increase his garden’s productivity then this is the perfect gift! You can find them at gardeners.com

lonny

The 5th issue of Lonny is here! Lonny is an online magazine, and it's totally free! These are some of my fav images!!

I'm already looking forward to the next issue!

olioboard

Olioboard is the best ever! It is a free online interactive tool for creating moodboards! It has an image library of over 250 brands and thousands of items. Just look through the library, click, drag, and drop the items you want. And there is a toolbar which lets you rotate, scale, flip, and crop the images.

I spent a little time today creating this moodboard! It is so much fun and easy!

I can’t wait to design more!

Check it out here!

clean and modern with a splash of summer

A few weeks ago my mom asked me to help her come up with a design for a tablescape. Her church was having a ladies event, and different groups of women were supposed to decorate their own table. She knew she wanted to use the apothecary jars from my wedding and fruit that she could donate to the food closet after the event was over, but she needed help coming up with a budget friendly idea.

So I did a few quick sketches and made a list of everything she would need.

-3 apothecary jars and a large glass vase that she already had.
-limes, lemons, oranges
-dark blue taper candles
-silver candlesticks
-white china
-dark blue napkins
-white tablecloth
-blue and white striped fabric
-mirror boxes in varying sizes
-yellow flowers, silver branches, leafy greenery, and glass marbles for the floral arrangement

For the place setting I thought it would be cute to have their names written on limes with a silver paint marker.

For the floral arrangement, my idea was a pretty simple design. Something they could easily do on their own.

My mom emailed me pictures of the finished table! I thought it looked great! Exactly what I had envisioned. They couldn’t find mirror boxes but I think it actually looks better without them. They also added dark blue pillowcases over the chair backs, which is a great budget friendly finishing touch!

They did an amazing job! Wish I could have been there!

These are some of my favs! Enjoy the eye candy...
