Merry Christmas from The Stapletons!

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."  Isaiah 9:6

gift wrappings

Finally finished wrapping Christmas gifts!
I usually stick with a gift wrapping theme, so this year I decided to go with the tradish green, red, and white.

I used white wrapping paper and made my own bows and tags!

For the felt bows I followed this tutorial from How About Orange.
It was really easy and they turned out super cute!

For the larger gifts I made three bows in different sizes.

I saw this idea floating around Pinterest and decided it was too cute not to try!
I used festive scrapbook paper and cut out letters to use as the tags for a few gifts!

curled paper ornament

Day 12:  Curled paper

Cut thin strips of paper and wrap it around a pencil.
As you curl it around, pull the paper tight so it will stay curled.
Then fill the glass ornament ball with the paper curls.

Hope you enjoyed the 12 ideas I've shared! Let me know if you try any!

yarn ornament

Day 11: Yarn
I had some thick gray yarn leftover, so I coiled it into a glass ornament ball.
So easy!
Any color or type of yarn will look great!
Come back tomorrow for the last ornament idea!

confetti ornament

Day 10: Confetti
This ornament was inspired by one at West Elm.
All you have to do is empty out your hole punch!
While we were traveling for Thanksgiving, I passed the time in the car by hole punching one sheet of white paper and one sheet of pink.

My hand was really hurting after hole punching two sheets of paper!

feather ornament

Day 9:  Feathers!
I love feathers in a glass ornament ball!
I curved several feathers into the ornament and to hang it I used a strip of yellow knit fabric for contrast.
You can use any type of pretty feather, like a single fluffy white feather or a peacock feather.

burlap ornament

Day 8: Burlap and string
I didn't fill this one with anything, instead I hot glued a strip of burlap around the outside.  Then I tied a bow around the burlap and used a little dot of hot glue to secure.

Perfect for a rustic, naturally decorated Christmas tree!

glitter ornament

Day 7:  Glitter!

I have seen the outside of ornament balls covered in glitter, but I decided to mix it up a bit and fill the inside!
I had a bottle of black glitter that was basically full, so I just poured it all in an ornament. Be careful though! It can get a little messy! I suggest using a little funnel, but if you don't have one you can easily make a paper funnel.

These would look great on a white tree with a black color scheme!
(I'm in love with some matte black ornaments I saw at Hobby Lobby!)

tulle ornament

Day 6: Tulle and linen
Stuff the ornament with as much tulle as you can.  Then make a little bow using linen and hot glue it to the top.  Quick and simple!
Imagine how good a Christmas tree would look decorated with a set of these in a variety of colors!
Great gift idea!

Half way done! Stay tuned for 6 more ideas!

jingle bell ornament

Day 5: Jingle bells!
Do you remember last year when I made this jingle bell ring?  Well, I had a lot of bells left over that needed a home!
You can get jingle bells for a good price at Hobby Lobby, and they have a variety of sizes and colors to choose from.
So shiny and happy!
