I painted the chalkboard paint on the unstained side of the log pieces I used at my wedding reception (3 years ago today!), but you can find log slices in different sizes at Hobby Lobby.

My Nature Inspired Thanksgiving Table- Take 2

Since it's Thanksgiving table setting week I thought I would mix up my own decor and show you another option.  I used some of the same items as I did on my nature inspired table but also added a few new things.

To add a little more color to the place setting I cut strips of some small print green fabric I already had and layered them on top of the placemats.

I found these free Thanksgiving print outs at Coordinately Yours.  They make for a great activity for your guests to write down what they are thankful for.

For the centerpiece I filled a Lenox Butler's Pantry serving bowl with pine cones and placed it on one of the magnolia leaves placemats I made.  For this table setting I turned the placemat over to show the brighter side of the leaves.

I love these mattress springs too much to not include them again!  This time I set them on log pieces that were apart of our wedding reception centerpieces.

Thanksgiving Table Inspiration- Industrial Modern

Day three of Thanksgiving decor week features industrial modern dinnerware. Mixed metals, smokey grays, warm wood tones, and blueprint inspired kraft paper placemats all make for a less traditional table setting that your modern family will love!

My Nature Inspired Thanksgiving Table

Like I mentioned yesterday, I am sharing Thanksgiving table setting ideas this week. Today's table is my own nature inspired table setting.  I used things I was given, already had, and found in nature to create this look.

My favorite thing about this table setting is the cotton centerpiece I arranged in an Anthropologie vase!  I have my dad to thank for the cotton!

The candle holders are reclaimed mattress springs from an old mattress my grandparents had. Thanks Monnie and Papa for giving me a few of the springs!  I love the rustic industrial touch they add to the table.

To dress up the simple glasses I tied some acorns around the base with twine.

For the two end seats I decided to make the place mats out of magnolia leaves. I cut a circle out of cardboard and hot glued the leaves so they would overlap in a circle.

I continued the magnolia leaves down the center of the table in a trail to the centerpiece.

The grapevine wreath is recycled from my wedding and works perfectly around the cake stand.

These chair covers are a recent DIY project that I made from a drop cloth. They were really simple to make. I started by cutting the pieces that cover the backs of the chairs. Next I draped the cut pieces over the chair backs and adjusted until I had the correct length.  I then hemmed the edges and added hemmed drop cloth stripes on either side to tie the sides together around the chair.

Thanksgiving Table Inspiration- Western Tribal

Thanksgiving is coming up soon so I thought I would share table setting ideas this week to help inspire you with your own Thanksgiving dinner table decor.

Day one of Thanksgiving inspiration week is inspired by a rising trend, tribal.  I choose pieces with subtle western tribal elements.

Thanksgiving centerpiece inspiration

If you are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner this year, don't forget a gorgeous centerpiece!

Don't worry, it doesn't have to be complicated or elaborate to look good.
Just get a fallish bouquet of flowers, and instead of using a regular vase, use a carved out pumpkin! Real or fake!

These examples would all be stunning focal points for your Thanksgiving feast!
